‘Jurassic Park’ fans waited fourteen years for a fourth film in the classic series, and when it finally arrived it made a huge impact – becoming the fourth highest-grossing film of all time. More specifically, young people love them, and for younger generations ‘Jurassic World’ would have been a first taste of the series. Acting as a sequel and soft reboot, ‘Jurassic World’ continued the story by realising original park-owner John Hammond’s vision and showing us a dinosaur theme park that had been up and running without incident for six or seven years.
‘Jurassic World’ was one of 2015’s biggest movies, making an incredible $1.6 billion during its cinema run and attracted plenty of attention regarding its lead woman, Bryce Dallas Howard, largely her skill for outrunning a T.rex in high heels. Sequel director JA Bayona has addressed the issue by clarifying that Claire (Dallas Howard) will not be wearing any inappropriate footwear hence forth. When Bayona spoke to Birth.Movies.Death, he was quick to dismiss the ongoing internet discussion about how (and why) Claire ran in heels.
When ‘Jurassic World’ hit cinemas in June of 2015 no one could have predicted what a huge hit it’d be. With J.A. Bayona directing the anticipated follow-up, the question on everyone’s lips is what it’ll be about.
‘Jurassic World 2’ will naturally continue the story started in 2015’s soft reboot of the dino-loving franchise, but it will also have a strong connection to Steven Spielberg’s 1993 original, according to new director JA Bayona. Asked by Cinema Blend the extent to which the sequel will be ‘Jurassic Park 5’ as well as ‘Jurassic World 2’, he said: “That’s a good question! I think somehow it’s both. It’s a very good question, and what we’re doing is a sequel to ‘Jurassic World’, but it’s definitely the fifth chapter of a longer saga.
