The BBC’s lavish adaptation of ‘War and Peace’ could have given us our first look at the next actor to play James Bond, as bookies have frantically slashed the betting odds of one of its stars being the next 007. Actor James Norton, who plays Prince Andrei Bolkonsky in the Russian drama, is now one of the favourites to take over from Daniel Craig after Paddy Power cut the odds on the 30-year-old from being a rank outsider to 18/1. Norton can also be seen in ‘Happy Valley’ and ‘Grantchester’ where he’s won over legions of adoring fans, and he was suitably brooding in ‘War and Peace’, so we think he’d make a decent Bond should EON be interested.
