Weinstein was sentenced to 23 years in prison — and there has been no shortage of reactions to the news.
The Oscar winner is a long-time advocate of the Time's Up movement.
Mira Sorvino has revealed that a casting director gagged her with a condom in an audition when she was 16.
The actor was meant to play the lead in the military legal drama but will be recast after the pilot was picked up to series by CBS.
Timotheé Chalamet has joined a list of actors and actresses showing their support for Dylan Farrow and the Time's Up movement.
As far as Mira Sorvino is concerned, her father is a stand-up guy, even if — or perhaps especially if — he wants to lay Harvey Weinstein out flat. Sorvino took to Twitter on Wednesday to heap praise on her dad, “Goodfellas” actor Paul Sorvino, after the elder Sorvino threatened to kill scandal-plagued producer Harvey Weinstein. On Wednesday, TMZ published video of the elder Sorvino railing against Weinstein, who Sorvino has accused of damaging her career after she refused his advances.
UPDATE: A spokesperson issued a statement on behalf of Harvey Weinstein on Saturday in response to Peter Jackson’s accusations that Weinstein was denying blacklisting actresses Ashley Judd and Mira Sorvino from being cast in the “Lord of the Rings.” Weinstein claims to have “had nothing to do with ‘Lord of the Rings.'” The disgraced movie mogul also denies being involved in casting decisions for “Bad Santa,” following director Terry Zwigoff’s claims Weinstein blacklisted Sorvino from that film as well. If Ashley Judd said she was in conversations with Mr. Jackson and reviewed sketches, it was under New Line, which had casting authority, not Miramax.
"There it is, confirmation that Harvey Weinstein derailed my career," Sorvino said in response to the revelation that Weinstein told Jackson not to audition her.
