    Star Wars: Rogue One is just the start for Saw Gerrera

    Originally introduced in the animated show ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’, Saw Gerrera recently re-emerged as the extremist rebel leader played by Forest Whitaker in ‘Star Wars: Rogue One’. During an interview with Empire Magazine, Lucasfilm boss Kathleen Kennedy revealed that Saw Gerrera originally had a much larger role in ‘Rogue One’… and his story may appear in future ‘Star Wars’ projects.

    It’s official – ‘Star Wars: Rogue One’ dodged a bullet. It’s no secret that ‘Rogue One’ takes us to a very different corner of the galaxy far, far away – where it’s all about the plight of the everyman to stand up against the Empire. During an interview for the new book ‘The Art of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’, scriptwriter Chris Weitz revealed that an early version of ‘Rogue One’ featured the Jedi… and that would have been a real shame.

    According to The Hollywood Reporter, Felicity Jones has the option of a ‘Rogue One’ sequel written into her ‘Star Wars’ contract. “Jones has one sequel option in her contract, according to sources,” they reveal.
