Taron Egerton rules out playing Wolverine in the MCU
Taron Egerton has addressed speculation that he could play Wolverine in the MCU, saying he's "not going to be the guy".
The Kingsman star has been subject to rumours that he could succeed Hugh Jackman in donning the X-Men character's claws – last year revealing he'd even had a meeting with Marvel about it.
However, speaking in a new interview with Total Film, Egerton seemed to rule out the possibility of it happening.

"That whole Wolverine thing – I get asked about it and no matter what you say, it gets turned into what people want you to say about it. I’m not going to be the guy to play Wolverine," he said.
"There’s no signs pointing towards that being the thing. And I just don’t know if I’m maybe… I don’t know."
"Maybe I’m getting to the point where that’s not what I want any more," Egerton added. "I don’t know. I’d never say never, and I do love those movies. I’ve really enjoyed watching them over the past 10, 15 years.

"But whether I… You know, it may not be that they’re the right thing for me any more. I think maybe I’m past the point where that felt like the right thing [for my career]."
Of course, we now know that Jackman will be returning to the role for an appearance in Deadpool 3, having last played the character six years ago in Logan.
Speaking last year about the idea of playing Wolverine, Egerton said: "I'd be excited but I'd be apprehensive as well, because Hugh is so associated with the role that I'd wonder if it'd be very difficult for someone else to do it."
