Tessa Thompson has confirmed that Michael B. Jordan will make his directorial debut with the third Creed movie.

Rumours that Jordan would helm Creed III emerged earlier this year, but now his co-star has nailed it all down.

Speaking in an interview with MTV, she said: “He is directing the next Creed.”

Adding a nod to his recent ascent to People magazine's Sexiest Man Alive, she went on: “So it’s going to be ammo, I think, for me when he is engaging with me as a director.

“I’m just going to tell him to dial down the sexiness.”

Jordan played Adonis 'Donnie' Creed, son of Apollo Creed, in the Rocky spin-off series for the first time in 2015, under director Ryan Coogler.

He then reprised the role in Creed II in 2018, with Thompson also reprising her role as Bianca, who becomes fiancée to Donnie in the second movie and the mother of his child.

In the second movie, directed by Steven Caple Jr, Donnie fights Viktor Drago, the son of Dolph Lundgren's Ivan Drago, who killed Carl Weathers' Apollo Creed in the ring in Rocky IV.

Both movies were hits at the worldwide box office, making nearly $400 million combined.

Meanwhile, Stallone has said that he plans to revive the Rocky movie series too, with Rocky taking on and mentoring a young immigrant boy.

He told Variety last year: “Rocky meets a young, angry person who got stuck in this country when he comes to see his sister. He takes him into his life, and unbelievable adventures begin, and they wind up south of the border. It’s very, very timely.”
