The Book Of Life: Channing Tatum Stars In Stunning New Clip
It’s not long until ‘The Book of Life’, the Guillermo Del Toro-produced animation from Reel FX Studios, hits cinemas on 24 October, and to celebrate we’ve got an exclusive clip featuring the voice talents of Channing Tatum and Zoe Saldana for you to enjoy.
Watch it in full above.
While the admittedly brilliant voice cast (also featuring Christina Applegate, Ice Cube, and Ron Perlman) is worth getting excited over alone, it’s actually the gorgeous visuals of this Mexico-set fable that really stand out.

Director Jorge Gutierrez says he designed the film to look like the concept art you always see in “Making of” books, but never in the final film, telling The Hollywood Reporter, “The mandate of this movie was: Our ‘Art of’ book is going to look exactly like the movie. And every artist poured their heart and soul into that idea.”
The film sees a group of school kids visiting a mysterious museum where they learn about the Mexican Day of the Dead via a charming story about two friends Manolo (Diego Luna) and Joaquin (Channing Tatum), who vie for the affection of Maria (Saldana).
Each segment of the film has a specific “look”. From the cartoony real world of the school kids, to the wooden-block Mexican past (which you can see in the clip), to the vibrant Land of the Remembered and dusty grey Land of the Forgotten. Each realm has a distinctive design, all of them visually stunning.
Stay tuned to Yahoo Movies as we’ve got a huge interview with producer Guillermo Del Toro hitting the site soon.
