Based on the hugely popular novel by John Green, ‘The Fault In Our Stars’ tells the story of Hazel and Gus, two teenagers who meet at a cancer support group. Hazel has thyroid cancer which has spread to her lungs, while Gus is cancer free having had his leg recently amputated.

Hazel seems to be losing her battle, but her attempts to distance herself emotionally from Gus seems to be failing as she explains in the trailer, “I’m a grenade. And one day I’m going to blow up.”

“I’m going to obliterate everything in my wake and I don’t want to hurt you.”

From the trailer, this looks set to be a seriously emotional journey, so you will definitely want to pack your hanky for this one.

Green's original novel, which was published in 2012, is based upon the author’s real life experiences as a student chaplain at a children’s hospital. It became a huge hit upon release and has since gone on to sell over 1m copies.

The film is released in the UK on 20 June 2014.

The film reunites Woodley and Elgort, who were last seen playing siblings Tris and Caleb in another adaptation, ‘Divergent’.

’The Fault In Our Stars’ which also stars Willem Defoe, Laura Dern, and Nat Wolff hits UK cinemas 20 June 2014.
