The 5 Best Gags From Sesame Street's Hilarious Star Wars Spoof
So ‘Sesame Street’ has rather brilliantly lampooned ‘Star Wars' in a great new sketch, 'Star S'mores', in which the Cookie Monster battle forces from the dark side. Watch it in full below.
Here are our five fave gags.
Only-One Cannoli
Obi-Wan Kenobi gets himself a pun-tastic nickname, named after the delectable Italian dessert, a bit like a cream horn, but made with fried pastry and ricotta. He’s our only hope. And that’s not to mention the equally pun-a-licious Chewie The Cookie, Flan Solo and Luke Piewalker.
The Frank Oz in-joke
Grover appears as the mentor Groda, with Cookie noting ‘Hey! He remind me of somebody’. Damn right. Grover was originally voiced by none other than the legendary Frank Oz. Who also voiced Yoda in the first trilogy. Lovely tie-in there.
The Oreo Hair-do
Princess Leia’s iconic danish pastry hair-do is superbly synthesised for Princess Parfait-a using Oreo cookies. Classic.
Bantha Mr. Snuffleupagus
Lovely attention to detail here - with the Tattooine scene featuring Mr. Snuffleupagus done up to look like a Bantha.
Whisk Interrogator
The menacing whisk terrorising Princess Parfait-a at the beginning is a great lampoon of the IT-O Interrogator (yes, it has a name), the droid which terrorises Princess Leia in ‘A New Hope’.
'Sesame Street' is no stranger to spoofing big movie franchises, after all, who can forget last year's 'Hunger Games' tribute? Watch it below for a reminder.
