The Flash: Lego Movie's Lord & Miller To Pen Story For Warner Bros

‘The Lego Movie’ and 'Jump Street’ remake directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller have been tapped up by Warner Bros to put together the story for their forthcoming movie based on The Flash.

A report last week revealed that Warner Bros and Sony have both been vying for the pair’s services, and it appears Warner have at least partly won that battle.

Deadline reports that the twosome are currently working on a story treatment for the super-speedy Justice League member, who will make his debut (presumably) in 2017’s 'Justice League: Part One’.

It is not yet known whether Lord and Miller will direct the film as well or even pen the final script, but for Warner Bros this is the first inroads into making that happen. Sony could get hire them for their planned Channing Tatum-led 'Ghostbusters’ film.

The two directors started to catch Hollywood’s eye with madcap animated feature 'Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs’, in 2009, before turning an unlikely idea (a big screen reboot of 80s TV series '21 Jump Street’) into a box office success.

Sequel '22 Jump Street’ followed in 2014, but not before the release of 'The Lego Movie’ - another unliekly idea turned into huge box office success by the directors.

Whoever directs 'The Flash’, we know 'The Perks Of Being A Wallflower’ actor Ezra Miller is onboard to star as the Scarlet Speedster. The film is scheduled for release on early 2018.
