The Leaked Hateful Eight Screener Traced To Top Hollywood Producer

The recently leaked ‘Hateful Eight’ screener has been traced back to Andrew Kosove, a top Hollywood producer who, apparently, should have really known better.

However Kosove, who recently oversaw the ‘Point Break’ remake, has insisted that he never even saw the screener that came his way, which was recently uploaded to piracy sites, alongside a version of ‘The Revenant’, ahead of their Christmas Day releases.

Kosove released a statement, via The Hollywood Reporter, which read, “The screener copy of ‘The Hateful Eight’ that was sent to me at Alcon Entertainment never touched my hands nor was I aware that it had been delivered.”

“In addition to cooperating with the FBI, we are going to conduct our own investigation to find out what happened,” Kosove continued. “Piracy is a threat to our entire industry and as filmmakers we will not tolerate such illegal and despicable behaviour.”

It’s believed that ‘The Hateful Eight’ screener in question was signed for by an office assistant after it arrived at Alcon’s offices. FBI agents were able to work out that it was Kosove’s copy because of a watermark on the online version.

Both ‘The Hateful Eight’ and ‘The Revenant’ screeners were leaked to piracy websites soon after they were sent out for awards consideration, and a number of days ahead of their Christmas Day releases.

It’s safe to say that when the identity of whoever didn’t take better care of this screener is finally revealed they probably won’t be working in Hollywood for very much longer.
