The Mrs Doubtfire house is up for sale... for a cool £3 million

The house on a hill from Mrs Doubtfire is coming up for sale… but it’s not cheap.

The des-res, located on Steiner Street in Pacific Heights, San Francisco, is on the market for a cool $4.45 million (about £3.4 million).

It was, of course, made famous by Robin Williams’ performance as the father locked in a custody battle for his children who pretends to be their new nanny, Euphegenia Doubtfire.

Since his tragic death in 2014, the house became something of a shrine for fans of the late actor, with flowers and remembrances left on the pavement outside.

The home was built in 1893, and has four bedrooms on the second floor, and large living and dining spaces on the ground floor.

According to SFGate, its current owner is Douglas Ousterhout, a prominent surgeon in the field of feminisation surgery for transgender patients.

He bought the home in 1997 for $1.39 million (just over £1 million).

According to reports, he was welcoming to tributes to Williams and also to tourists who would visit the house, and is now retiring to the country.

There’s been a glut of film location sales of late, including two from the Harry Potter films – 4 Privet Drive, home of the Dursleys, and Hermione’s house in Hampstead.
