The Rock is all about his fans. So he must be pretty happy with them right now.

Why? Because the first viewer reviews for Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw hit Rotten Tomatoes yesterday – and the movie has been awarded a whopping 90 per cent audience score.

No wonder then, the action star took to social media to big up his following. He simply said, “Wow.”

Before adding, “Huge thank you to the fans for making HOBBS & SHAW the highest audience score in the history of the Fast & Furious franchise. Cheers with a tequila toast of gratitude.”

The reviews website, which aggregates both critics and viewers scores, has seen the action extravaganza, which Johnson previously compared to “jazz”, score a less exciting score of 67 per cent with critics.

The success of the Fast & Furious spin-off with fans could lead to future adventures and a mini spin-ff franchise for actors Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham.

In a recent exclusive interview with Yahoo Movies, Statham expressed the opinion that Guy Ritchie would be the “perfect guy” to “strap on” a future Hobbs & Shaw movie and “blow it through the ceiling”.

The spin-off from the Fast & Furious franchise followed an alleged falling between the Rock and Vin Diesel. Diesel is currently busy filming the currently untitled Fast & Furious 9. Many of the cast from the original films have returned to continue their story arcs.

Rotten Tomatoes only acknowledges scores from ticket buying viewers. This then leads to a verified audience score. The site changed its scoring system after an online campaign launched to try and skew percentages for Captain Marvel before it was even released.

Hobbs & Shaw is in cinemas now.
