These Disney Animals Reimagined As Humans Are Awesome
To everyone who was ridiculed for fancying Simba as a kid, turns out he would make a very handsome man.
Tumblr illustrator Pugletto has transformed some of Disney’s best loved animal characters into humans and has made a point of introducing a little more diversity.
“I was actually scrolling through Deviantart one day and just got really frustrated about the amount of Simbas with white skin and flowing red hair,” Pugletto told Cosmopolitan US.
“The way I see it, is ‘The Lion King’ is a story that takes place in Africa… [so] I reimagined the characters as humans the way they would look if they were from Africa.”
The 24-year-old US artist took on 14 ‘Lion King’ characters including Simba, Mufasa, Timon and Pumbaa before moving on to the stars of ‘Lady and the Tramp’ and ‘The Jungle Book’.
‘The project went from alleviating my frustrations to employing diversity where there was a blatant absence of it,’ said Pugletto.
We always knew the Tramp was a babe.
