Police have launched an appeal after thieves managed to steal an entire building from a sports centre in Yorkshire.

Two men dismantled the wooden structure, which measures 12ft by 33ft, and removed it from the centre in Chanterlands Avenue in Hull on 15 July, Humberside Police said.

They used a large white van to remove the pieces, making multiple trips between 9am and 3pm that day, the force added.

The thieves were challenged by staff at the centre, but it was not until after they left that they realised the men did not have permission to dismantle the building.

Police said the structure was a "valuable resource for the centre and well used by the local community".

If you have any information about who the men could be, have seen the building or have been offered to purchase it or its timber, you can call Humberside Police on 101 quoting crime reference number 16/74718/20.
