This week's top trailers

From The Hunger Games to The Wolf of Wall Street, we run down the best movie trailers released this week.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire

The final promo for the much-anticipated sequel is replete with darkness and melodrama as the Capitol attempts to quash the simmering rebellion in Panem by forcing previous champions, including Katniss and Peeta, to return to the Hunger Games arena.

Things to get excited about include the Waterworld-esque arena, which looks a bit epic, and the plethora of new character's including Sam Claflin's sexy Finnick Odair and Philip Seymour Hoffman's Machievellian Gamemaker Plutarch Heavensbee. Oh, and it looks like Katniss / Gale shippers will finally get their moment.

The Quiet Ones

The first teaser for Hammer Films' follow-up to last year's frightfest The Woman in Black is both creepy in the extreme and mighty intriguing, thanks to its old school horror feel. The storyline, which sees a group of science students attempt to create a poltergeist, is based on a true story, which makes it even more frightening.

Most importantly, though, it stars Jared Harris (Mad Men, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows), who's good in everything.

X-Men: Days of Future Past

There's so much to geek out over in this trailer, from the thrill of seeing McAvoy, Stewart, Fassbender and McKellen share screen time to the introduction of never-before-seen mutants and Hugh Jackman's nipples.

The overwhelming takeaway from the trailer, though, is how damn dark it is - the fun, 60s vibe of First Class having been eschewed in favour of heavy drama and serious faces from just about everyone. Mystique even does a cry.

The LEGO Movie

Like the soundtrack says, everything about the new trailer for The Lego Movie is awesome. Will Arnett is Lego Batman, Morgan Freeman is a retired Lego space wizard, and Lego Abraham Lincoln is, well… he's a bit of a D-bag.

We predict brilliant things.

Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues

Not so much a trailer as a… well, to be honest we don't quite know how to categorise it. Will Ferrell's latest plug for Anchorman 2 is a fairly funny faux-promo for Ron Burgundy's autobiography, Let Me off at the Top.

"This is a very important book from a very important man," apparently.

The Wolf of Wall Street

Leonardo Di Caprio looks to be on tip-top form in Martin Scorcese's Oscar-tipped drama as stockbroker and playboy Jordan Belfort, whose life of fraudulent excess in the late 80s was cut short by the FBI.

Throw in a hard-edged Jonah Hill and Matthew McConaughey doing crazy, and it's a party we wouldn't mind an invite to.
