The third solo outing for Thor is set to take the Nordic God in a much more comedic direction thanks to the addition of Taika Waititi (‘What We Do In The Shadows’, ‘Hunt For The Wilderpeople’) as its director.

Clearly this shift in tone has provoked quite a few changes not just to the film but to its cast, too. That’s because it has now been revealed, courtesy of images from Entertainment Weekly, that Chris Hemsworth has a brash new hair-cut for the film. Plus, rather than having Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster by his side, his love interest this time around will be Valkyrie, played by Tessa Thompson.

During his discussion with the publication, Hemsworth admitted that the decision to go with shorter hair for ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ not only meant he didn’t have “to sit in the makeup chair” for an extra hour every morning, but he also saw it as both a “rebirth for me as the actor but also as the character.”

There were plenty more revelations to be made regarding ‘Thor: Ragnarok’, though, the most interesting of which revolved around the inclusion of the Hulk, and how he teams up with the Asgardian Prince.

It turns out that we have Hela (Cate Blanchett) to thank for that, because after her first battle with the titular superhero she sends Thor to Sakaar. What’s Sakaar? I’ll allow Hemsworth to explain. “[Sakaar is] basically where every wormhole across the universe dumps out its trash, so you get people from all walks of life with all sorts of incredible abilities and powers.”

“No one cares what prince or King Thor may have been in another world. Also, his strength is pretty easily matched with those he finds himself amongst.” Sakaar’s most successful fighter is none-other than The Hulk, which is what allows Thor to re-team with Bruce Banner.
