TikTok has two new trending dancing animals

For at least the last month, TikTok has been obsessed with two dancing dogs grooving to an Ice Spice and Aqua mashup.

The dogs have been placed in countless memes, and TikTokers have recreated the dance. However, there are two new dancing animals set to take over the app you should keep an eye out for.

Users in the comments were trying hard to figure out where these animals came from as they’ve burst onto the scene.

“TELL ME I BEG OF YOU PLEASE,” said @ironbat999.

“Please where is this clip from,” replied @chefboyardee_stan.

There were some attempts at answers, but more commenters remained with questions.

These animals actually aren’t new, though. In 2020, @supergirl_coco posted a video of the characters in a dance battle. You can also find renditions of the cat under @banbokitty4073 on YouTube.

This meme is fairly similar to the dancing dogs in that TikTokers are using it to show them and a partner doing regular, everyday activities.

The twist in this trend comes from the song in the background. While the dancing dogs used a mashup, this meme uses “WOP IT” by Lil Vada for the animals to dance to. Vada samples “Yeah!” by Usher, Lil Jon and Ludacris, giving the track a recognizable beat.

With a recognizable sound and energetic characters, this trend is spreading quickly. Vada’s song already has over 137,000 videos attached to it, while the CapCut template for this meme has been used more than 100,000 times.

The dancing dogs have been one of TikTok’s top memes for a while, but it looks like there’s a changing of the guard happening thanks to a dancing bear and cat.
