Timothée Chalamet has undergone quite the transformation for his new role, with the star looking almost unrecognisable during filming for his new movie Marty Supreme.

The A24 film, directed by Josh Safdie, will be loosely inspired by professional table tennis player Marty Reisman, though further plot details are being kept under wraps for the time being.

However, we do know that Chalamet will be sporting a very different look for the part, as the actor has been pictured on set with a 1950s hairstyle, round wire-framed glasses, a moustache and bushy brows.

As well as directing Marty Supreme, Safdie has co-written the script alongside Ronald Bronstein. The pair will also produce the film with Chalamet, Eli Bush and Anthony Katagas.

Other cast members include Gwyneth Paltrow (marking her first on-screen movie role since 2019's Avengers: Endgame), Tyler, the Creator, Odessa A’zion, Penn Jillette, Kevin O’Leary and Abel Ferrara.

Elsewhere, Chalamet is also set to star in James Mangold's upcoming biopic A Complete Unknown, which sees the Dune: Part Two actor transform into iconic musician Bob Dylan.

"At the Newport Folk Festival in 1965, a young Bob Dylan shakes up his act on the folk music scene by going electric and siring rock as the voice of a generation, defining one of the most transformative moments in 20th-century music," reads the offical synopsis.

Starring alongside Chalamet will be Maleficent's Elle Fanning as Dylan's romantic partner Sylvie Russo (said to be inspired by Dylan's late ex Suze Rotolo), Edward Norton as folk singer and social activist Pete Seeger, Boyd Holbrook as Johnny Cash, and Monica Barbaro as singer-songwriter Joan Baez.

Rounding out the ensemble are PJ Byrne as Harold Leventhal, Scoot McNairy as Woody Guthrie, Dan Fogler as Albert Grossman and Will Harrison as Bob Neuwirth.

Marty Supreme doesn't have a release date yet. A Complete Unknown will be released on December 25 in the US and January 17, 2025 in the UK.
