Timothée Chalamet features in first 'Dune' footage ahead of trailer debut
The first trailer for Denis Villeneuve’s adaptation of Frank Herbert’s seminal novel Dune is coming later today, and Warner Bros has released a brief teaser ahead of the launch.
It shows teen heartthrob Timothée Chalamet as Paul Atreides, the heir to a wealthy space dynasty, who plays a key role in the epic sci-fi story which was first published in 1965.
The teaser doesn’t reveal much, but you can watch it below while you wait for the main event to land later today.

Set in the distant future, mankind is part of a feudal interstellar society with noble houses controlling planetary fiefdoms. The story begins when the Atreides family, headed up by Paul’s father Duke Leto Atreides (Oscar Isaac), accepts control of the key planet of Arrakis, AKA Dune.

Arrakis is a dangerous and inhospitable planet, and the source of the incredibly valuable drug/fuel source Melange, otherwise known as ‘spice’. Upon arrival to the planet, it quickly becomes clear that the battle for control the planet and its precious resource has only just begun.
Villeneuve’s film adapts the first half of Herbert’s novel, with a sequel coming down the line.
Synopsis: “A mythic and emotionally charged hero’s journey, Dune tells the story of Paul Atreides, a brilliant and gifted young man born into a great destiny beyond his understanding, who must travel to the most dangerous planet in the universe to ensure the future of his family and his people.
“As malevolent forces explode into conflict over the planet’s exclusive supply of the most precious resource in existence—a commodity capable of unlocking humanity’s greatest potential—only those who can conquer their fear will survive.”
The film stars Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Zendaya, Chang Chen, David Dastmalchian, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, with Charlotte Rampling, with Jason Momoa, and Oscar winner Javier Bardem.
Villeneuve directs Dune from a screenplay he co-wrote with Jon Spaihts and Eric Roth based on the novel of the same name written by Frank Herbert. Villeneuve also produced the film with Mary Parent, Cale Boyter and Joe Caracciolo, Jr. The executive producers are Tanya Lapointe, Joshua Grode, Herbert W. Gains, Jon Spaihts, Thomas Tull, Brian Herbert, Byron Merritt and Kim Herbert.
Dune is coming to cinemas in December.
