Tipping Point has paid tribute to a contestant who sadly passed away filming.

The afternoon quiz show, which broadcasts every weekday on ITV, aired its latest episode today (November 25) featuring a contestant named Alan.

Sadly, the show's official Twitter account posted as the episode started that Alan had died since taping the episode, sharing a picture of him with host Ben Shepherd and the day's other contestants (Alan is the man in the blue T-shirt).

"After the recording of today's programme, we spoke with Alan's family who shared the sad news of his passing," read the post.

"Everyone at Tipping Point would like to extend their sincerest sympathies."

In the episode, Alan was unfortunately knocked out in the first round, but he took it all in his stead and looked like he had a pleasant time.

As well as the regular episodes, Tipping Point will wrap up the current series of celebrity specials (called Tipping Point: Lucky Stars) this Sunday at 7pm, with Holby City actor and Strictly Come Dancing winner Joe McFadden, Love Island's Olivia Jade Attwood and comedian Richard Herring.

Previous contestants across this series have included American comedy actor Rob Delaney, cricket star Graeme Swann and Countdown legend Gyles Brandreth.

2020 has sadly seen us say farewell to a host of famous faces from across the wide world of entertainment. In our In Memoriam, we pay tribute to them with a collection of words from their friends, fans, colleagues and loved ones.
