Tom Cruise helps create 500 British jobs

Turns out Tom Cruise isn’t all bad. He’s bringing over 500 jobs to the UK with his upcoming blockbuster ‘All You Need Is Kill’, which will be the first major blockbuster shot at the new Warner Bros. owned Leavesden Studios (outside London).

George Osborne announced that filming would take place in the UK in a speech about tax breaks for the entertainment industry.

The chancellor also announced tax incentives for the animation and video game industries.
The synopsis for ‘All You Need Is Kill’ reads something like ‘Groundhog Day’ meets ‘Starship Troopers’, as Cruise’s future soldier finds himself in a time loop constantly repeating the last day of a battle against an alien menace.

He stars alongside Brit actress Emily Blunt. It’s being helmed by ‘Bourne Identity’ director Doug Liman.

Leavesden Studios was home to the filming of both the ‘Harry Potter’ and ‘Sherlock Holmes’ series prior to Warner Bros. buying and revamping the area to the tune of £100 million earlier this year. It’s currently the site of the Harry Potter studio tour.
