Calling the stunt the 'most dangerous' ever attempted for a film, a new behind the scenes videos has been released showing Cruise's training for the scene which calls for him to ride a motorbike off a cliff and parachute to safety.
The nine minute video shows Cruise repeatedly skydiving to perfect his technique with one of the stunt coordinators revealing that he performed over 500 jumps from a plane to prepare for that one scene.
Cruise also performed 13,000 motorcross jumps on a dirt bike with the video showing the Top Gun star able to calculate how fast he is going through the noise and vibrations from the bike.
