Yahoo Movies Tom Cruise's new movie gets exciting update
Tom Cruise's newest film project has received a pretty big update.
The Mission: Impossible and Top Gun: Maverick actor has teamed up with Birdman and The Revenant director Alejandro González Iñárritu for a new movie, the first as part of Cruise's new deal with Warner Bros Discovery.
Variety reports that, although the title and plot of the film isn't known at the current time, filming is set to start filming very soon in the UK.
The exact date the cameras start rolling hasn't been confirmed just yet, but could be within the next few weeks.

The film will also star John Goodman, Jesse Plemons, Sandra Hüller, Sophie Wilde, and Michael Stuhlbarg, while Birdman co-writers Nicolas Giacobone and Alexander Dinelaris are on scripting duties, alongside journalist Sabina Berman.
Meanwhile, Cruise has another Mission: Impossible film in the pipeline.
The eighth film in the franchise was delayed until 2025 and renamed after the relative box-office disappointment of Dead Reckoning.
Director Christopher McQuarrie recently spoke about how they would be upping the ante in the stunt department, stating: "Tom and I are constantly re-evaluating our own work and asking ourselves how we could have done it better.

"We've done underwater sequences previously. We've worked underwater in Edge of Tomorrow, and we worked underwater in Rogue Nation, and we left very dissatisfied with those sequences.
"And we analyse why we were dissatisfied. What were the factors working against us?"
Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning can be streamed on Paramount+, NOW, and Sky Go. An untitled eighth Mission: Impossible film will be released on May 23, 2025.
