Tom Hanks is feeling better and has learned his lesson on Vegemite

Tom Hanks has updated on his coronavirus situation, after having been released from hospital in Australia with his wife Rita Wilson.

Hanks is till isolated, appears to be on the mend but has 'the blahs' – so he's bored, tired and lethargic.

“Good News,” he writes in a post to Instagram. “One week after testing Positive, in self-isolation, the symptoms are much the same. No fever but the blahs.

“Folding the laundry and doing the dishes leads to a nap on the couch. Bad news: My wife @ritawilson has won 6 straight hands of Gin Rummy and leads by 201 points.

“But I have learned not to spread my Vegemite so thick.”

Typewriter fan (he has a collection) Hanks also revealed that he brought with him an eerily apt model on his trip to Oz.

“I travelled here with a typewriter, one I used to love. We are all in this together. Flatten the curve,” he added.

Hanks revealed he'd tested positive for the virus last week, and was admitted to hospital.

He's in Australia in pre-production for Baz Lurhmann's new movie, a biopic of Elvis Presley in which Hanks is set to play Col. Tom Parker, Presley's manager.

However, Lurhmann is now also self-isolating, after having come into contact with Hanks, and the film's production is halted for the time being.
