Ever wondered what globally renowned actor Tom Hanks gets up to in his spare time? Well if his Twitter account is anything to go by, it seems the ’Bridge of Spies’ star wants to be a Lost and Found officer.

The hugely likeable and talented actor has, for reasons unknown, decided to use his Twitter account as a database of sorts whereby he asks his followers (all 11.6 million of them) to reunite owners with their lost property.

For over 12 months now Hanks has morphed his account into a wonderfully charming lost and found feed. Here are some of his most recent pleas to the public.

No one’s quite sure whether Hanks has successfully reunited any of these misplaced items with the owners, except for one student ID card he found in the park last year.

The girl, known only as Lauren, told Good Morning America, “I’m sitting in the library trying to get homework done, and I get an email with a link to Twitter that said ‘You’re famous,’” she revealed.

We’re all for seeing the kooky things big celebs get up to when they’re not making movies, and they don’t come any more random (and dare we say likeable) than this.

It’s as if the man’s on a personal crusade to reunite owners with their misplaced bits and bobs, and we have to admire the Hanx for his gestures of goodwill, as well as his fascination for lost gloves.
