Tom Hanks sends espresso machine to White House press and urges them to ‘fight for the truth’

Tom Hanks sent a coffee machine to the White House as a gift for press covering the Trump administration.

The A-list actor had the stainless steel espresso-maker delivered to the press room in order to boost their efforts at finding ‘the truth’.

Having done the same thing back in 2004 for journalists covering George W Bush’s presidency, Hanks has now done it for those reporting on Trump.

His accompanying note read: “To The White House Press Corps, Keep up the good fight for Truth, Justice and the American way. Especially for the Truth part.”

The letter included a drawing of US soldiers, under the caption: “Fresh, spirited American troops, flushed with victory, are bringing in thousands of hungry, ragged, battle-weary prisoners.”

Hanks was a vocal supporter of Hillary Clinton during last year’s US presidential elections while publically denouncing Trump.

During his campaign, the actor described the Apprentice star as a “self-involved gasbag.”

The Sully star stopped by the White House press room back in 2010 while visiting then president Barack Obama to see how the machine was holding up.

“You know you are supposed to clean this after every use. You are supposed to wipe that off. Look at the buildup there,” he joked.
