Well, now you can…

Hollywood star and ‘Batman’ supervillain Tom Hardy will be taking on a very different role over the Christmas holidays – reading the bedtime story on CBeebies this New Year’s Eve.

“Tom Hardy is going to read the bedtime story on CBeebies this New Year’s Eve,” the BBC confirmed. “The dad-of-two is best known for tough-guy film roles such as Bane in The Dark Knight Rises and the Kray twins in Legend. But now children across the country will be able to hear him read You Must Bring a Hat by Simon Philip and Kate Hindley.”

Of course, he’s not the first celebrity to get involved with the CBeebies bedtime story.

In the past, we’ve seen the likes of Hollywood actor Damian Lewis, Astronaut Tim Peake and even ‘Great British Bake Off’ winner Nadiya Hussain all reading bedtime stories. But it looks as though it’s Hardy’s turn.

And he even brought his dog along.

“The story, aimed at children aged two and over, tells the tale of a little boy who is going to a party,” they explained. “Tom, who was joined by his dog Woodstock for the filming, will appear on more CBeebies Bedtime Stories in 2017.”

That’s right – this isn’t a one-off, either.

“The stories over Christmas and New Year will also feature performances from Isla Fisher, Maureen Lipman, Justin Fletcher, Sam Nixon and Mark Rhodes,” added the BBC. “CBeebies Bedtime Stories is on the CBeebies channel every evening at 6.50pm.”

But will he do it in his Bane voice? For now, we have to wait and see.
