Tom Holland's Chaos Walking gets first-look teaser as full trailer release date is confirmed
Tom Holland and Daisy Ridley's new (and much-delayed) sci-fi movie Chaos Walking has finally released its first footage ahead of the trailer arriving today (November 19).
Chaos Walking, which is based on Patrick Ness's 2008 novel The Knife of Never Letting Go, stars Spider-Man actor Holland as Todd Hewitt, a young man living on a planet called New World.
He has always believed that women were wiped out long ago by a deadly pathogen that also unleashed Noise, the ability to hear the thoughts of people and animals, on the remaining men, so Todd is very surprised to one day discover a woman named Viola Eade (Star Wars actress Ridley).

After Todd discovers a patch of silence out in the swamp and learns that the source is a girl named Viola, the first he's ever met, the duo soon team up and set out on a journey that will reveal the true secrets of their mysterious home and potentially put them in great danger.
Following the recent release of the movie's poster, we've now got our first glimpse at some of the film itself and while the newly-released teaser clip may only be 15 seconds long, every single moment of it is jam-packed with action.
The teaser, which has been shared by IGN, gives us a sneak peek at the first meeting between Todd and Viola as Todd takes a shocked step back from Viola after encountering her in the woods and says that he has "never seen a girl before".

We then get some fast-cut looks at some of the movie's action scenes and it's safe to say that it seems there will be a LOT of them. Think riding a horse while being shot at, angry fights in the water and some epic scaling of buildings, for starters.
Thankfully we don't have too much longer to wait for the first full-length trailer, as it's just around the corner. The first proper trailer will debut on Thursday (November 19) at 6am PT / 9am ET (which is 2pm GMT in the UK) on IGN.
Chaos Walking is directed by Edge of Tomorrow director Doug Liman, from a screenplay written by the novel's author Ness and Spider-Man: Homecoming writer Christopher Ford.
The movie also stars The Outsider's Cynthia Erivo, Selma star David Oyelowo and Doctor Strange and Hannibal's Mads Mikkelsen.
Chaos Walking's release has been a long time coming as principal photography was actually completed back in November 2017 but due to the lead stars' other big commitments, reshoots didn't take place until 2019.
Chaos Walking is currently due for release in the UK and US on January 22, 2021.
