The Tomorrow War star suffered multiple injuries preparing for Chris Pratt movie

The Tomorrow War star Sam Richardson has revealed he suffered multiple injuries while preparing for his role.

The Veep actor appears in the Amazon film alongside Marvel's Chris Pratt and The Handmaid's Tale actress Yvonne Strahovski but speaking recently, opened up about several injuries he incurred while training for and filming the movie.

These include 'popping the meniscus in his left knee' and tearing both of his hamstrings in separate incidences.

On his third injury, Sam told the New York Times: "Now it's like, this is a problem.

"They sent in a super doctor who works with the WWE and these athletes, and he kind of adjusted me, set me up, and then I was back and ready to go.

"He adjusted the way I walked, and I was like, 'Wow, that's incredibly helpful.' Some doctors just know physiology, go figure!"

The Tomorrow War follows civilian Dan Forester (Pratt) who finds himself drafted into a future war, the fate of which depends on his ability to confront his past.

About the film's "page-turner" script, Strahovski previously told Digital Spy: "I think it was so special that you have this blockbuster alien action movie that has this really strong backbone, really strong family theme that I think a lot of people are going to relate to."

The Tomorrow War is out now on Amazon Prime Video.
