Tony Jaa photos suggest he will be Fast and Furious 7 villain

Tony Jaa to take villain duties in 'Fast and Furious 7'?

Tony Jaa might be having a ball on the 'Fast and Furious 7' set, hanging out with stars Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Tyrese Gibson but all the evidence so far suggests he will not be smiling much in the film itself. Jaa has been sharing loads of photos via his Twitter and Facebook accounts and while they mostly show him all smiles with the stars, there are also a few hints at what kind of character he will be playing in the seventh film of the 'Fast and Furious' franchise.

Scouring the photos he has posted for clues leaves the distinct impression that Jaa will not be fighting for the good guys (who let's face it already have plenty on their side). Here are three reasons I think Jaa will be joining the likes of Jason Statham and possibly Kurt Russell as villains in 'Fast and Furious 7'.

Muay Thai training

Tony Jaa is best known for his appearance in bonkers martial arts extravaganza Ong-Bak. His Muay Thai skills are legendary and his willingness to take on ludicrous stunts will hopefully be put to good use in 'Fast 7'. His wiry frame and quick fighting will make an interesting counterpoint to the bulky brute force of stars Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson. Will their muscle be able to match his skill and speed? The fact that Diesel has been training with Jaa suggests that the beefcake actor needs to get in the best shape possible to be able to stand a chance against the Thai actor and martial artist. Any fight scene between them will need to be convincing and Diesel will have his work cut out matching the skills of Jaa when it comes to hand to hand combat.

In two photos Jaa has posted, he can be seen carrying weaponry. I know the good guys carry guns too but Jaa looks to be packing some serious heat and despite his smiles in all the photos, this looks like the arsenal of a villain. One shows him posing manically with a rocket launcher and the other sees him smiling with a machine gun in his hand and a range of guns stocked up beside him. While I hope Jaa gets the opportunity to use his fists and kicks, the weaponry seen in these pictures suggest Jaa will be a force to be reckoned with and what self respecting good guy would have these kinds of weapons at their disposal?

There might be no official stills released of Tony Jaa in action in the film yet but many of the photos of him on set feature him wearing an all black costume. It might just be the colour Jaa feels comfortable in but something about the way he dresses says villain to me and call me old fashioned but didn't the bad guys always used to wear black?

What role do you think Tony Jaa will take in 'Fast and Furious 7'?

Pete is a cautious fan of the Fast and Furious films; enjoying the fast cars and furious fights but not so keen on the cheesy dialogue. However he's not going to be telling Vin Diesel that last bit any time in a hurry…
