Tottenham Hotspur are set to make Dejan Kulusevski’s loan move from Juventus permanent this summer, according to reports.

There has been some speculation that the 23-year-old would return to the Italian club. However, it now seems this isn’t the case.

Indeed, Kulusevski has shown in the past that he can be a key player for Tottenham. So, understandably, Daniel Levy is keen to get terms finalised.

According to the Sun, Tottenham are ‘puzzled’ by the suggestions that Kulusevski could go back to Juventus. These claims are backed up by stand-in Sours manager Ryan Mason, who has made it clear that he wants the winger to remain at the club.

He said: “I’m not sure [he will stay]. The general feeling is that Deki is a Tottenham player, we’ll see at the end of the season”

“I love Deki — he has got so much room to grow and be a top, top player, even though he already is a top, top player.”

Now, as per the Sun’s report, Tottenham are ‘ready’ to pay £30.5m to secure Kulusevski’s services permanently. This fee was set out in their loan deal with Juventus.

With Champions League qualification looking now unlikely, the fee becomes an ‘option,’ rather than an ‘obligation’ for Spurs. But, Levy allegedly has every intention of triggering it.

Kulusevski was extremely impressive when he first arrived at the club in January 2022. But, he has failed to hit the same heights this term, largely due to injury.

Indeed, this season, the Sweden international has made 27 Premier League appearances for Tottenham, scoring only two goals, as well as making six assists.

However, Kulusevski remains in Tottenham’s plans. Also, as mentioned by Mason, he still has plenty of room to improve in the future.

Levy may have decided on Kulusevski’s future, but still has several huge decisions to make ahead of next season.

First and foremost, the club chairman needs to find a new manager. On Friday, it was reported that Tottenham have opted against appointing Julian Nagelsmann as their new manager.

This came as quite a shock, given he was the big favourite for a number of weeks. Now, former Liverpool midfielder and current Bayer Leverkusen boss Xabi Alonso is the favourite. But, there could still be some twists over the next few months.

Tottenham also need to appoint a new Director of Football, ideally before the transfer window opens.

With that in mind, Levy is thought to be considering a number of options and is expected to choose a successor to Fabio Paratici before the end of the season.
