Touching first trailer for Heath Ledger doc, I Am Heath Ledger

The first trailer for ‘I Am Heath Ledger’, a forthcoming documentary about the late ‘Dark Knight’ star, has debuted online.

Made for US cable channel Spike, the clip premiered in the US yesterday – on what would have been Ledger’s 38th birthday, and 10 years after his death.

It features candid, never-before-seen footage of the actor, who, it appears, was never without some kind of camera.

Family and close friends have collaborated on the film, including Ledger’s sister Kate, ‘Rogue One’ star Ben Mendelsohn, and ‘Brokeback Mountain’ director Ang Lee.

Ledger died on January 22, 2008, following an accidental overdose of prescription drugs. He was just 28.

Directed by Derik Murray, the film premieres at the Tribeca Film Festival on April 23.
