Judas and the Black Messiah star Dominique Fishback is about to land a massive new role.

The actress is in final negotiations with the Transformers franchise, co-starring alongside Hamilton's Anthony Ramos in the upcoming movie, Deadline reports.

Although Michael Bay stepped away from the franchise to work on new material, Transformers is giving a platform to an emerging director. Grown-ish's Steven Caple Jr will direct the untitled Transformers project, currently scheduled for release on June 24, 2022.

Ramos secured the initial leading role early on in the project, and a number of actresses screen-tested for the co-starring role that Fishback has filled. The pair have known each other for a number of years, previously working together on a play during their time in college.

The script is being written by Darnell Metayer and Josh Peters, based off an earlier script by Joby Harold. When Bay left the franchise, Paramount made changes to the development process of Transformers, creating a writers room to develop multiple ways to take the story in new films.

The Transformers franchise is one of the biggest in Hollywood, having first launched in 2007 before making over $4 billion worldwide across five films.

Elsewhere in the franchise, there is another new Transformers movie in the works.

The project is set to be directed by Charm City Kings' Angel Manuel Soto, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Marco Ramirez, best known for being the showrunner of Marvel's The Defenders, is said to be writing the script.

The new Transformers project is set for release on June 24, 2022.
