The Crown alum Vanessa Kirby and Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney have joined Ron Howard's hotly-anticipated new survival thriller Eden.

Originally named Origin of Species, the movie has since been renamed to Eden. The survival thriller is based on an unsolved mystery that occurred on a remote island in the Galapagos.

The movie will reportedly explore the lengths that humans will go to in their quest for happiness while, according to Deadline, the film "explores the human condition in ways that are unexpected, absurd, humorous, sexy, but above all thrilling and deeply suspenseful."

Howard has reportedly been looking to make this project for 15 years, since he first visited the Galapagos Island where the real-life events occurred. He and Tetris writer Noah Pink are penning the script while Hans Zimmer will score.

Kirby and Sweeney are joining an exciting cast that also includes No Time to Die star Ana De Armas, Jude Law (Captain Marvel), and Daniel Brühl (Captain America: Civil War). Kirby and Sweeney are replacing Tomb Raider's Alicia Vikander and Daisy Edgar-Jones, who have both dropped out.

Sweeney, who also starred in The White Lotus, will next be seen opposite Glen Powell in their new rom-com movie Anyone But You. Sweeney recently spoke about the romance rumours between her and Powell, saying the speculation had been fun for them.
