Ted Lasso's Juno Temple will appear in the third Venom movie.

News of her involvement arrived via Deadline, which reports that the actress is currently in negotiations to join Tom Hardy in the sequel to Venom: Let There Be Carnage.

As it stands, nothing is known about Temple's potential character at this early stage.

Temple is due to appear in the fifth series of Fargo as one of its leading characters, Dot.

Venom 3 will be directed by Kelly Marcel from a screenplay she has written with Hardy. This will be Marcel's major movie directing debut, with her previous screenwriting credits outside of the Venom movies including the likes of Cruella and Fifty Shades of Grey.

Andy Serkis had already confirmed he wouldn't be returning after directing Let There Be Carnage, saying that although he had "a ball" working on the film, his other commitments would have made a return challenging.

"Tom Hardy is such a good friend of mine, and I felt very proud of the work, and we had such fun doing it. To be the custodian of that franchise for a little while was great," Serkis explained.

"I've got so many projects that I was just about to [work on], like Animal Farm for instance. We were just about to go into production with that, and then we delayed as Venom came up.

"I really have to be very on top of the ones that I've been building to do for such a long time."

Luther: The Fallen Sun star Serkis went on to praise Marcel's appointment.

"But I'm really delighted that Kelly's doing that. She's so in control of that material with Tom," he shared.

"The pair of them are such a great team to work with. I'm really excited to see what they're going to come up with."
