Vinnie Jones is joining the cast of action man ensemble thriller The Tomb.

The film will star Sylvester Stallone as Ray Bresli, the world's top prison designer, whose knowledge of high security jails is put to the test when he finds himself having to escape from his own state-of-the-art prison, with Arnold Schwarzenegger as one of his fellow inmates.

Now British hardman actor and former footballer Vinnie has joined the cast as a ruthless prison guard, Variety reports.

The Snatch star will be reunited with his Fire With Fire co-stars Vincent D'Onofrio, who is in talks to play the deputy director of the Prisons Bureau, and rapper 50 Cent.

Gone Baby Gone star and Oscar nominee Amy Ryan has been cast as Sly's business partner and love interest in the film, directed by Swedish filmmaker Mikael Hafstrom.

Passion Of The Christ star Jim Caviezel will play another of the prison guards.

The project is set to start filming in Louisiana before the summer, with a view to being released next year.
