Walking Dead Star Joins Blade Runner Sequel

‘The Walking Dead’ star Lennie James is the latest name to join the increasingly-stellar cast of Denis Villeneuve’s untitled 'Blade Runner’ sequel.

He joins Ryan Gosling, Harrison Ford, Robin Wright and Dave Bautista in the sequel set to release 35 years after the celebrated original.

James is best known for playing Morgan Jones in AMC’s popular zombie apocalypse series, and has played the character in 23 episodes to date. He’s expected to return for the upcoming seventh season.

Variety reports that James is in negotiations to join the production, which got under way in early July.

Little is known about the sequel, other than it will be set decades after the original and, naturally, continue the story. Villeneuve got the gig following the success of pulsating action thriller 'Sicario’ and reunites with cinematographer Roger Deakins for the project.

The cast also includes Barkhad Abdi, Mackenzie Davis, David Dastmalchian and Carla Juri. The film is set for release on 6 October 2017.
