Walking Dead star Steven Yeun's MCU role accidentally confirmed
The Walking Dead star Steven Yeun's role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been revealed.
It was confirmed that Yeun, who played Glenn Rhee in the zombie comic book series, had joined the cast of upcoming MCU instalment Thunderbolts in February this year – but the character he would be portraying wasn't shared at the time.
That was until Robert Kirkman (creator of Prime Video's Invincible, which also stars Yeun as its titular character) appeared on comic book artist David Finch's YouTube channel to confirm that Yeun would be playing Sentry.

"My good friend Steven Yeun is playing The Sentry in a movie," Kirkman said.
"He called me, he went in for a costume fitting," Kirkman then revealed.
"I don't think this is a spoiler, or anything that will get anybody in trouble. I don't know, maybe, we'll see. I don't care, I don't work for Marvel. What are they going to do to me?"
He then added that Yeun joked about Sentry's colour scheme being similar to that of Invincible's.
"He called me and said, 'I just came back from a costume fitting for Sentry. I guess I only do superheroes that wear yellow and blue.'"

As it turns out, the news very much was a spoiler, as Marvel's characteristically tight-lipped casting department had not yet made an official announcement on Yeun's role.
Thunderbolts stars Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova/ Black Widow, David Harbour as Red Guardian and Sebastian Stan as James 'Bucky' Barnes, aka The Winter Soldier, and will land in cinemas in July 2025 following another delay.
Thunderbolts will be released in cinemas on July 25, 2025.
