Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl has debuted to universal acclaim, landing a perfect 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

The film, the second feature-length and overall sixth of the franchise, follows the titular characters after the invention of a garden gnome which develops a mind of its own. As the inventor and his pet dog begin to investigate, an iconic figure from their past seems to be involved.

Marking the first entry in the franchise since 2008’s A Matter of Loaf and Death, the film had its world premiere at the American Film Institute (AFI) ahead of its wider release in December and January, receiving critical acclaim thus far.

Empire Magazine

“It’s delightful to see these characters again, particularly the long-suffering Gromit, and if the jokes don’t come quite as thick and fast as before, the beating heart beneath the clay remains intact.”

Hollywood Reporter

“Vengeance Most Fowl is a brisk and well-paced escapade, in which Gromit proves himself to still be one of our best screen actors and Wallace’s absentminded behaviour still endears.”

Daily Telegraph

“The madcap chaos that unfolds hits all the gleeful highs that this franchise always has, with visual gags coming thick and fast, socked over with the immaculate craft we now take for granted.”

Evening Standard

“It provides chuckles, rather than belly laughs. But this is Aardman we’re talking about: still head and shoulders ahead of everybody else when it comes to delivering the warm and fuzzies.”

IndieWire

“While Vengeance Most Fowl retains many of the quaint elements and tried-and-true methods that made Wallace and Gromit a global favourite, it’s also undoubtedly a slicker, glossier project than anything that’s come before.”

Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl will be on BBC iPlayer and BBC One this Christmas. It will be released globally outside the UK on Netflix on January 3, 2025.
