Watch an exclusive sneak peek at the deadly “9-1-1” season 7 premiere part 3: 'He's gone'

Bobby (Peter Krause) must perform a daring rescue as he and Athena (Angela Bassett) face rising waters on their sinking cruise ship.

The first responders on 9-1-1 are no strangers to death, but this week it's Bobby and Athena who are in need of rescue.

Thursday brings the epic finale of the three-part season 7 premiere that's had Peter Krause's Bobby and Angela Bassett's Athena in peril right from the start of their belated honeymoon cruise. After pirates invaded the ship, shot a passenger, and set off a bomb that left the vessel taking on water, last week's episode ended with a giant wave brought on by a hurricane capsizing the boat, turning everything (and everyone) on its head.

Now, in a preview clip exclusive to Entertainment Weekly, the action picks up with the remaining passengers taking stock of what's happened.

"He's dead," Bobby says of casino-chip-obsessed Jarod (Christopher Livingston), who took the hardest fall in the capsizing. And Norman (Daniel Roebuck) is still strapped to that roulette table, passed out from his gunshot wounds — only now the table, bolted to what was the floor, is hundreds of feet above the other survivors.

Is Norman dead too? The clip doesn't reveal, but Bobby seems to have a plan to get him down.

Prior to the season 7 premiere, Krause teased this scene to EW, saying, "Yesterday I was climbing around an upside-down world. We have an injured individual who needs to be strapped to a roulette table, and then the ship turns over so he's hanging upside down. I have to figure out a way, as Bobby, to get him back down to safety."

"It's been fun," he continued of filming the Poseidon Adventure homage, which the 9-1-1 team worked on for months while simultaneously filming other episodes (including a Bachelor crossover!). "I wish we had a little bit more time. There is a time-crunch aspect to it all, which we try to deal with and keep things safe. But yeah, we move pretty fast on the show."

But will Bobby and Athena move fast enough to escape the ship before it sinks?

9-1-1 airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
