Watch the first Ant-Man and the Wasp trailer

Marvel has unleashed the first trailer for Ant-Man and the Wasp giving us our first proper look at the sequel starring Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, and Michael Douglas. Watch it above.

The trailer picks up the story of Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang after the events of Captain America: Civil War. Evangeline Lilly, so perfect as Hope Van Dyne in the first film, steps up the plate for the sequel donning her own be-winged super suit as the Wasp.

The trailer shows Hope and her father Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) are on the run from the authorities after the events of the first film. Hope and Scott must learn to put their past differences behind them to become a dynamic duo.

Evangeline Lilly plays the Wasp, the first female Marvel superhero to get her name in the film’s title.

“It’s a different dynamic than we’ve seen in the rest of the Marvel movies, an actual partnership,” director Peyton Reed told CBR back in 2015. “You’ve got Captain America and the Falcon, obviously. But this is a thing that in the comics was a romantic partnership and a heroic partnership, so it’s going to be fun to play around with that and discover what the movie version of that is.”

The trailer also shows Ant-Man scaling up as Giant-Man once again, a neat little trick he learned during the airport battle in Civil War. This will likely come in handy when he has to battle the film’s antagonist Goliath, played by Laurence Fishburne, also glimpsed briefly in the teaser.

Along with the first trailer, Marvel has also released the first teaser poster for the film, and it’s a neat riff on the teaser poster for the 2015 original.
