Yahoo Movies Watch the first trailer for the new Alien movie
Alien: Romulus brings the classic franchise back to our screens in August, and we now have the chilling first trailer.
Directed by Fede Álvarez (who also co-wrote the movie), the new movie centres on a group of young space colonisers on a distant world who come face-to-face with the terrifying Xenomorphs.
It marks the seventh Alien movie (ninth if you count the two Alien vs Predator movies), with Alien: Romulus confirmed to take place between the first two Alien movies.

The cast includes Cailee Spaeny, Isabela Merced, David Jonsson, Archie Renaux, Spike Fearn and Aileen Wu.
Alien: Romulus is expected to be a standalone movie without any connections to the original movie. However, Spaeny previously revealed that the movie does have a connection to the sequel behind the scenes.
"They brought the same team from Aliens, the James Cameron film. The same people who built those Xenomorphs actually came on and built ours," she explained.
"So getting to see the original design with the original people who have been working on these films for 45-plus years and has been so much of their life has been really incredible."
While Ridley Scott didn't direct the new movie, he is on board as a producer and according to Álvarez, Scott is a big fan of Alien: Romulus.
"He walks into the room and he did say, 'Fede, what can I say? It's f**king great'," he revealed in October 2023.
"My family knows it was one of the best moments of my life to have a master like him, who I admired so much, to even watch a movie I made... but particularly something like this... and talk to me for an hour about what he liked about it."
Alien: Romulus is released in cinemas on August 16.
