Watch the first trailer for Jennifer Lopez in new sci-fi Netflix movie Atlas
Atlas, the new Netflix sci-fi film starring Jennifer Lopez, has released its first trailer, which you can check out above.
The film follows Atlas Shepherd (Lopez), a brilliant but misanthropic data analyst with a deep distrust of artificial intelligence, as she joins a mission to capture a renegade robot with whom she shares a mysterious past.
But when plans go awry, her only hope of saving the future of humanity from AI is to trust it.
Along with the first trailer, Netflix has confirmed that Atlas will be released on May 24.

The tense trailer begins with Lopez’s character trapped in a space shuttle before concluding as she crash lands on a mysterious planet, with other footage hinting at huge-scale battles, advanced technology and plenty of explosions.
Atlas, which has been directed by Brad Peyton, also stars Simu Liu, Sterling K Brown, Mark Strong, Abraham Popoola and Lana Parrilla, with the script being penned by Leo Sardarian and Aron Eli Coleite.
Peyton, who best known for directing San Andreas and Rampage, previously spoke about the opportunity to work with Lopez.
"Having the chance to direct Jennifer in the title role of this movie is a dream come true, as I know she'll bring the incredible strength, depth and authenticity we've all come to admire from her work," he praised.

Lopez's previous Netflix movie The Mother was a huge hit for the streaming service when it was released in May 2023.
It currently stands as one of the most-watched Netflix movies of all time with 136.4 million views, ahead of the likes of Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery and Extraction.
Atlas is released on Netflix on May 24.
