Watch the first trailer for Mission: Impossible 8
Mission: Impossible 8 has finally wrapped filming, and we've now been treated to the first trailer for the new movie.
Originally set to be called Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two, the title was changed following the relative box office disappointment of Part One. When that movie landed on digital platforms, it was now just called Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning.
The first trailer for the new movie has confirmed that its title is now Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning.

Tom Cruise is, of course, back as Ethan Hunt in the new movie and since it's still a follow-on from Dead Reckoning's cliffhanger ending, we can expect to see a lot of familiar faces back with Ethan.
Ving Rhames and Simon Pegg are back as Ethan's IMF teammates Luther Stickell and Benji Dunn, while Hayley Atwell returns as Grace who – after the events of the previous movie – is now an IMF agent.
Esai Morales is back as the villainous Gabriel, while Vanessa Kirby reprises her role as Alanna Mitsopolis, aka the White Widow, alongside Pom Klementieff as Paris who might now be on Ethan's side.

Newcomers for Mission: Impossible 8 include Hannah Waddingham, Katy O'Brian and Janet McTeer, while Rolf Saxon reprises his role as William Donloe from the very first Mission: Impossible movie.
We won't be seeing Rebecca Ferguson back as Ilsa Faust following her death in Dead Reckoning, unless everybody involved in that movie is lying to us about her fate.
Will Jeremy Renner be back as William Brandt? Nothing has been confirmed, but he has said that he'd "always jump into a Mission: Impossible anytime and back into Brandt".
Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning is released in cinemas on May 23, 2025.
