Watch: ‘Saturday Night Live’ Spoofs Jay Z, Solange Knowles Elevator Incident

Jay Z, Beyonce and Solange Knowles may have released a statement saying that the now infamous elevator attack between Hov and Solange is behind them, but “Saturday Night Live” couldn’t pass up the opportunity to parody the slap-fest.

Jay Pharoah and Sasheer Zamata play Jay Z and Solange, respectively, and attempt to explain what the incident was really all about, while bodyguard Kenan Thompson frequently steps in to make sure things aren’t getting heated. According to the duo, the fight wasn’t a fight at all — but rather, a friendly gesture from Solange to get a spider off her arachnophobic brother-in-law.

To prove it, they showed the elevator video with the supposedly real audio added.

“Oh my god, there’s a spider on you!” screams Solange.

“Get it! You know I hate spiders,” responded Jay Z.

“SNL” alum Maya Rudolph also makes an appearance as Beyonce, taking the opportunity to quote several of the singer’s hits.

The altercation took place in an elevator at New York’s Standard Hotel after the Met Gala. Security footage of the incident, in which Solange went at Jay Z even as a bodyguard tried to restrain her, was leaked and released via TMZ this week.

The video quickly went viral, and prompted the trio to release a statement Thursday saying that they’ve moved on from the incident.
