Watson in talks for Cinderella

1 March 2013

Emma Watson has been tipped for the lead role in Disney's live-action adaptation of Cinderella.

Film bosses have been searching for the perfect actress for the coveted role, and it seems Emma might be the star to fill the glass slippers, reported Variety.

The Harry Potter star is said to be in "very early talks" about the part.

Other actresses who have previously been linked to the title role include Saoirse Ronan, Alicia Vikander, Imogen Poots and Gabrielle Wilde.

If Emma signs up, she will join Cate Blanchett, who is attached to play the evil stepmother. Kenneth Branagh will direct.

Disney apparently wants to start shooting Cinderella in London in the autumn for a potential 2014 release.
