It looks as though ‘Wedding Crashers’ may get a sequel.
Appearing on The Today Show, original ‘Wedding Crashers’ star Isla Fisher revealed that she’s been talking to Vince Vaughn… and there may be a sequel in the works.
“I bumped into Vince Vaughn at a party and he said that apparently we’re going to be making a sequel,” she said. “So I’m really excited to see what’s happened to Gloria.”
Unfortunately, she adds that it’s not quite a done deal.
“There’s some talk of it,” she clarified… and perhaps she shouldn’t have spoken quite so openly about the potential movie on morning television.
But it looks as though it could be happening.
‘Wedding Crashers’ debuted back in 2005 and followed the exploits of John (Owen Wilson) and Jeremy (Vince Vaughn) - two divorce mediators who regularly crash weddings in order to meet and bed women. But they may have taken it too far when they crash the wedding of daughter of the U.S. Secretary of the Treasury, William Cleary (Christopher Walken). Long story short, they set their sights on Cleary’s other daughters, Gloria (Isla Fisher) and Claire (Rachel McAdams)… and end up riding off into the sunset with the women of their dreams.
So do we really need a sequel?
The end of ‘Wedding Crashers’ did hint that the four leads were heading off to crash another wedding together… so could we find a sequel bringing the old band back together? It might make for an amusing yarn, as long as it’s handled well. Nobody wants to see ageing bros just muddling through a sad, middle-aged existence.
But perhaps there’s a good reason for their next caper?
For now, we’ll have to wait and see. But it sounds as though Isla Fisher is up for it.
