Well, It Looks Like Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Are Changing the Name of the Sussex Royal Foundation

It’s official: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are saying “ta-ta” to the Sussex Royal Foundation.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have officially dissolved their royal charity, which was created after the couple split from Prince William and Kate Middleton’s organization, now called The Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

The news isn’t a huge surprise, since Prince Harry and Markle filed solvency documents earlier this month. But prior to yesterday, the Companies House hadn’t officially processed the application, which is now accessible to the public.

According to The Daily Mail, the documents confirm that Prince Harry and Markle are parting ways with the Sussex Royal Foundation. However, that doesn’t mean they’re cutting ties with philanthropy altogether.

In fact, the papers hint that the foundation is simply undergoing a name change. To no one’s surprise, the new moniker has little-to-no ties with the royal family: The MWX Foundation, which stands for “Markle Windsor.”

The announcement comes just three months after Prince Harry and Markle announced that all their charity endeavors will now fall under a new brand: Archewell. The name is not only inspired by their son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, but it’s also derived from the Greek word meaning “source of action.”

Guess we’ll sit back and watch as Prince Harry and Markle build their empire, one charity at a time.
