West Ham ‘in talks’ to sign World Cup winner Emery wants at Aston Villa; Nottingham Forest also interested
West Ham United are reportedly considering a move for Sevilla left-back Marcos Acuna, who has been linked with a move to Aston Villa this summer.
The Hammers have brought in James Ward-Prowse (£30m), Edson Alvarez (£35m) and Konstantinos Mavropanos (£19m) so far but their business isn’t done yet.
They are also on the verge of signing highly-rated Ajax attacker Mohammed Kudus for around £36m, but David Moyes is also keen to bring in a new left-back.
The manager wants more competition for Emerson Palmieri, who has started both of West Ham’s matches this season.
Acuna is one player on the manager’s shortlist. The 31-year-old signed for Sevilla in 2020. He has since made 125 appearances across all competitions, scoring five goals and making 25 assists.
He also played a key role in helping Argentina to win the World Cup last year, so he could help bring valuable experience and a winning mentality to the West Ham dressing room.
Sevilla are currently in the midst of a financial crisis, so could be forced into accepting a bid for Acuna this summer.

West Ham ‘in talks’ to sign Acuna
According to 90Min, West Ham are ‘in talks’ with Sevilla over signing Acuna this summer. The report notes that he is of interest to Nottingham Forest and as mentioned, Aston Villa.
The Villains have considered bringing in Acuna as a replacement for Ashley Young, who signed for Everton on a free transfer in July. It’s also thought that Unai Emery could offload Lucas Digne.
With that in mind, we could potentially see the three clubs make offers for Acuna in the next few days, although it is West Ham who are leading the race for his signature.
90Min do not state how much Sevilla would be willing to accept for Acuna. Other reports suggest, however, that an offer of £15m would be enough to lure him away from the Spanish club, despite him being a key player for them.
For a player of his experience, this is arguably a huge bargain, so it will be interesting to see if West Ham can beat the competition for his signature.
